President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Aleksa Bečić today met Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Montenegro Mr Ashot Hovakimian.
With gratitude for Ambassador’s kind wishes, President Bečić expressed pleasure with good relations of the two friendly states and voiced readiness for further improvement of bilateral relations by intensifying political dialogue at the highest level.
During the conversation, President Bečić referred to rich diplomatic experience of the Ambassador and expressed expectation that jointly they would contribute to establishing parliamentary diplomacy.
Speaking of the current political developments in Montenegro, President Bečić noted that the commitment of the new parliamentary majority was focused on the European system of values, with the assessments that Montenegro remained devoted to its foreign policy aim.
Ambassador Hovakimian informed the President of the Parliament about the current political developments in Armenia and conflicts in respect of Nagorno-Karabakh, expressing hope that final resolution of the conflict would be reached within the format of the Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group. He expressed conviction of further prosperity and stability of Montenegro and voiced expectation that the two countries would continue to build good relations within joint multilateral mechanisms.
