President of Parliament of Montenegro meets representatives of Center for Development of Non-Governmental Organisations

The Parliament to work on strengthening cooperation with the non-governmental sector

The President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Mr Aleksa Bečić, met today with Ms Ana Novaković Đurović, the Executive Director of the Center for Development of Non-Governmental Organisations, and Ms Lidija Knežević, the Program Coordinator.

President Bečić stressed the readiness to develop new mechanisms of cooperation through the consideration of proposals submitted by civil society, at the same time welcoming the proactive approach of the non-governmental sector in relation to numerous projects that have contributed to the transparency of the Parliament.

On this occasion, he stated that the Parliament of Montenegro and the non-governmental sector have achieved cooperation at several levels and said he was confident that working bodies would be formed soon, in order for opportunities for improving and intensifying cooperation in common areas of work to be considered.

The representatives of the Center expressed readiness to make a full contribution through dialogue with the Parliament in order to establish transparent and expedient procedures, emphasising that their focus has rested on establishing different models of cooperation of civil society with the Parliament of Montenegro,
