Parliament of Montenegro marking International Children's Day

Meeting with the delegation of children and representatives of the Center for Children’s Rights, socialising online with pupils and an exhibition of photographs

President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Mr Aleksa Bečić, will meet with the delegation of children and representatives of the NGO Center for Children’s Rights on Friday, 20 November 2020, on the occasion of the adoption of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

The meeting will be preceded by socialising online with pupils of grades 7-9 of the Elementary School "Milija Nikčević" from Nikšić, on Thursday, 19 November 2020, in the Blue Room of the Parliament of Montenegro.

Pupils will have the opportunity to act as young journalists and to interview the President of the Parliament of Montenegro from their school desks via video-conference system, on the topic of Institutions, education, sports and activism.

As part of the program of marking the International Children's Day, an exhibition of photographs in the format of 3D books will be set up on the plateau in front of the Parliament of Montenegro. The exhibition setting contains a selection of photographs from ten previous sittings of the Children's Parliament, as well as of the eight-year long parliamentary educational program of the Democracy Workshops. These are projects which, with their significance and values, contribute to the affirmation of the principle of transparency of the work of the Parliament of Montenegro.
