Ms Aleksandra Vuković, MP, took part in today’s OSCE PA Standing Committee meeting which was held online.
The introductory address to the Standing Committee was given by Mr David Beasley, Executive Director of the United Nations World Food Programme, a branch of the UN agency that won this year's Nobel Peace Prize.
The Standing Committee presented reports by President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Mr George Tsereteli, Treasurer Mr Peter Juel-Jensen and Vice President Mr Peter Bowness, who spoke about the process of reforming the Rules of Procedure of this parliamentary organisation in order to ensure smooth operations during the coronavirus pandemic.
The meeting also discussed current events in the OSCE region, especially regarding the need to resolve crisis hotspots and other security challenges, and the need for more efficient multilateral cooperation in the context of the global health and economic crisis.
In the part of presenting the activities of the OSCE PA in relation to the election observation missions, Secretary General Mr Roberto Montella emphasised the significance of the participation of parliamentarians in the three election observation missions after the pandemic, including the election observation in Montenegro.
