Conference “Western Balkans and the EU: Democratic consolidation through the fulfilment of political criteria”

Parliament of Montenegro, 13 November 2020

Conference “Western Balkans and the EU: Democratic consolidation through the fulfilment of political criteria”, organised by the Parliament of Montenegro and Center for Democratic Transition (CDT), under the auspices of the Balkan Trust for Democracy and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway, will be held on Friday, 13 November 2020, in the Blue Room of the Parliament of Montenegro, starting at 10:30h.

The introductory remarks will be delivered by President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Aleksa Bečić, Director Executive of the Center for Democratic Transition Mr Dragan Koprivica, Director Executive of the Center for Democratic Transition Ms Gordana Delić, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to Serbia, Macedonia and Montenegro H.E. Jørn Eugene Gjelstad and EU Ambassador to Montenegro Ms Oana-Cristina POPA.

During the conference, fulfilling of the political criteria from the parliamentary perspective will be discussed, as well as fulfilling of the political criteria from the civil society perspective.

For the second year in a row, the Parliament of Montenegro is the host of this regional forum, which aims to point out the progress of the Western Balkan countries in meeting the most important EU political criteria, but also the important role of regional parliaments in this process.
